Open Question: If the USA changes its foreign policy and take more of an observatory role, who'll take the lead?

If the USA decides to go with a more "lets just mind our own business" and not get involved in foreign politics approach. Another country will definitely have to take the US influential position in international politics. What would the implications of that be on the world and the USA?
